Shaikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum is taking matters into her own hands.
The daughter of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum appears to have notified her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, that she would like a divorce through a scathing post on Instagram.
“Dear Husband,” Shaikha Mahra began the July 16 post. “As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I Divorce You.”
The 30-year-old, who tied the knot with Sheikh Mana in June 2023, continued, “Take care. Your ex-wife.”
E! News has reached out to representatives for both parties for comment and has not yet heard back.
According to the BBC, the three-time repetition of “I divorce you” could be an interpretation of the Islamic practice known as triple talaq. Though banned in many countries, the outlet reports, the practice traditionally allows a husband to instantly divorce his wife by saying the words three times and is not normally invoked by a woman.
Though Sheikh Mana has not commented on his estranged wife’s post at this time, it appears as though both he and Shaikha Mahra have deleted the other from their social media accounts.
Sheikha Mahra’s father is not only the ruler of Dubai, but also Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sheikh Mana—who is also a member of Dubai’s ruling family—and Shaikha Mahra married in an elaborate ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Center during their summer nuptials, according to Harper's Bazaar Arabia.
The princess’ divorce declaration comes only two months after she gave birth to her and Sheikh Mana’s first child, a baby girl whose arrival she announced via Instagram May 9.
And while her former husband has been erased from her profile, Shaikha Mahra has kept the glimpses of her daughter online.
As she captioned a June 4 photo of her baby snuggled to her chest, alongside pick hearts, “Just the two of us.”
